Barko Waltz is a multi-instrumentalist and a singer songwriter born in Argentina, raised in Detroit and living in Barcelona since 2015. This unique upbringing has resulted in his own musical style- a timeless variety of classy and classic rock and roll that sounds like a rootsy version of Beck mixed in with the Kinks and a touch of Captain Beefheart, yet still strangely modern. His deep love of folk, blues and all things Americana is evident in all of his original compositions, mixed with cryptical, thoughtful lyrics that draw you in and keep you wondering.
Barko Waltz’s live shows are creative and varied, drawing on a combination of classic covers (such as Hank Williams) and his wide catalog of originals, drawn from his forthcoming EP, (due out in fall 2024), his 2023 EP, “The Triumphant Pajamas of Barko Waltz”, and his first LP, “Barko and Me”, on which he played and recorded all the instruments himself.
Barko Waltz has a long history of performing and recording not only his own music, but with other artists as well. He has toured throughout Spain and the US multiple times, appearing on the Spanish live music TV program “Conciertos de Radio 3” with the Balas Perdidas, and has recorded his own music with Grammy Award winning producer Alberto Pérez at Sol de Sants Studio in Barcelona. Additionally, he has honed his chops playing weekly at various bars and clubs in the city for the last few years.
